Hi I'm Hannah

I am an Engineering student. I want to create a better world. I'm a Mormon. I live it. I love it.

About Me

I come from a large family of 7 kids, 6 grand-kids, and countless relatives. I am number 5 in the 7. I love to play sports, especially volleyball. I played all throughout high school and was a State Champion twice. the only other thing I love as much as family and athletics is academics. I love to learn and I am currently studying to be a Civil Engineer. I want to learn everything I can about water, from energy to hydraulics. You now that nerdy girl you see walking around with their bulging day planner and a backpack jammed with books, yeah that is most likely me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family. But you must understand that I still had to find my own way and ultimately decide for myself if this was something I wanted to devote my life to. All growing up I was shy and rarely got up to speak or offer prayer. Then as I had gotten older this really started to affect my life. I found myself feeling like I was only Mormon at home or on Sunday. Its not that I was out doing unspeakable things, but that I wasn't doing anything of great importance. I had no direction in life. I had come to a crossroads and was scared because I did not know what life would hold further down either road. Well I decided to start doing the little things at first to see how I felt. I am living proof that through those little things, Heavenly Father had made me stronger. I would pray and not feel alone anymore. I would read and finally find my own answers. I would go to church for me and not because my parents expected me to. I attended other activities that the church put on and got involved. I finally got the courage to stand before my peers and testify the little that I did know. All of these things may seem miniscule to what lots of other people have accomplished in life, but for me this changed my whole world. It was like a beautiful ripple effect. All I had to do was start somewhere and touch the water. I started to see people in a new light and treat myself with greater respect. My knowledge of the gospel grew immensely and my testimony grew with it. Now I can proudly saw to the world that I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt that this gospel was restored on this earth by our first Latter-Day Prophet Joseph Smith. That he did translate the Book of Mormon correctly and that it is the word of God. This knowledge has been the foundation to my beliefs. Everything else that I stand for and believe branches off of this belief. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed for myself to know of its truth. Everyday I read I see a better change occur in my life.

How I live my faith

I am called to be on a committee with other single adults to plan fun activities for our ward every Monday night. These activities gives each one the members a chance to create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime and learn simple principles of the gospel. I am so blessed to be able to be a part of such a great committee.
