Hi I'm Mikah

I live in Oklahoma. I'm a junior in high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Living and breathing homework and athletics, I have the life of a typical teenager. I am on the dance team at my school, which really takes up a lot of time! I also run track and I played basketball for a year before I figured out that I was horrible at it and needed to take a different direction. When I'm not busy, I'm usually sleeping, reading a book or hanging out with my friends. I love books, and practically have a whole library piling up in my room. I enjoy camping, hiking, boating, or just plain being out in nature. I have a passion for movie nights and popcorn. I've lived in a total of four different states in my lifetime-- all of which have been great places to live, in my opinion. Currently, I live in Oklahoma, and I absolutely love it here!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, not because I was born into it, but because I decided to find out if the gospel was true or not for myself. My family has always gone to church every Sunday, had family scripture study, and said family prayer. My parents are faithful members of the Church, and encouraged us to become closer to God. However, when I was in eighth grade, I decided to read the entire Book of Mormon cover to cover and figure that out for myself. As I read the messages in that book, I felt an overwhelming feeling of happiness that filled me with peace. The words began to be delicious to me and I wanted more and more. Everything that I read was uplifting and brought that same feeling of happiness. I prayed to know if what I was reading was true, but then I realized that I already knew; I had recieved my anwer when tears flowed from my eyes as I read about the Savior. I am a Mormon because I know that this religion has brought me closer to God and closer to his son, Jesus Christ, who is my Savior and Redeemer. I am a Mormon because I have recieved a witness that the Book of Mormon is true, and I will not deny that truth. I am a Mormon because being one has brought me more joy than any other thing in my life.

How I live my faith

I participate actively in the Young Women program of the Church, which is the youth program that we have for girls ages 12 to 18. I love everything about it so much! I love my leaders, who are my role models and the most amazing women in the world, my friends, who are my support and practically my sisters, and the general feeling that is present at our meetings. Because of this program I have come to know my Heavenly Father and have confidence in myself. It is an honor to be apart of such an awesome organization!

Are Mormons Christians?

Mikah
We are definately Christians! I believe in Christ with my whole heart, and I trust in his Atonement and also in his divinity. I know that through him I can return to live with God again. He is my rock, my light, and my friend! Show more Show less
