Hi I'm Jeff Gallacher

Born and raised in Salt Lake, moved to Northern California in 2004 & then to Southern California in 2013. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy watching movies (mainly good action or comedies) and spending time with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church but I found religion was not really for me. However one day after I turned nineteen, there were some events that transpired in my life that caused me to kneel down and pray. I had prayed many times before but this was the first time I had really knelt to find out what I should do. I have investigated many different religions but what always stood out to me was that each one wanted to convince me why they were true, yet they conflicted. The Mormons were the only group that I knew of that gave you the information and then left it up to you to discuss with Heavenly Father and find out. So I knelt down and I prayed.....nothing, so I went to bed. When I woke up the following morning I was continually directed to take some actions that were highly uncharacteristic for me and it was then that I finally understood I had received an answer to my prayer and that I needed to serve a mission. From that single prayer, I know Joseph Smith Jr is and was a prophet of God and through Joseph we have a prophet on the Earth today. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me and wants the best for me. I know I can be with my family well beyond this life. I know there is more.

How I live my faith

I am by no means perfect but I do all I can to complete the things I have been asked to do. From visiting with my home teaching families, to managing the membership records and finances for my ward, working with the youth/Scouts, to helping my wife with her callings, I will do what I can. I have also begun indexing old records, which are then used to help others in their family history research. By far my most enjoyable time of service was helping out at the Sacramento Temple. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to seeing what service I can continue to provide in the future.
