Hi I'm David

I live in Italy. I coach my sons at wrestling and watch them play American football and soccer. I am LDS.

About Me

I have lived in many countries including the United States of America, Germany, Japan, and Italy. I like to read science fiction and fantasy novels. I am happily married and a father of four children who are all adolescents now.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. When I became an adult, I left the Church for several years. My life wasn't going were I thought it should. I was miserable and lost. I remembered my father's teachings and decided to pray. This was a turning point for me. Because of these prayers, I began to feel better. I attended a non-denominational church, but I wasn't spiritually edified. I started reading the Book of Mormon for the first time. After reading the Book of Mormon, I began feeling better. I repented of my sins, and I received a spiritual witness to my forgiveness by God. My prayers are answered and your prayers can also be answered. I married my wife and later we were sealed in the temple with our daughter. My daughter served a mission for the Church in Brazil. I know that families can be together forever. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. I know that God still reveals his will to his children. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ redeems us and brings me joy especially during my struggles. Because of these things, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ or Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly. I visit two members at least monthly to teach, edify, and assist. I am a doctrine teacher in sunday school. I love this calling because I learn new viewpoints from the experiences of the members of my class. I try my best to be faithful to the commandments I am given. I look for people to help and try my best to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to find these opportunities.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

David
First, I would not take anyone's word for or against it. Second, seek out missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to teach you. Third, accept and follow through on the challenges the missionaries give you. Fourth, ask Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, if what you are being taught is the truth. Finally, when you pray, you should be willing to live with the answer that Heavenly Father gives you. Additionally, it may be helpful to fast and pray for the answer to the truthfulness of Mormonism. What is faith?

David
Faith is believing in things that are not seen which are true. We demonstrate our faith in God by keeping His commandments. By being faithful, our faith in God grows. Show more Show less
