Hi I'm Tannah Marie O'Banion

I am from Billings Montana. I am a singer and I love animals. My family is amazing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently 23 years old. I was born on August 15th, 1990. I am crazy outgoing and bubbly. I am a singer and I do a lot of musical theater. Music is a huge part of my life. I professionally perform as a solo artist and the stage is really where I feel like myself. I have a dog who is one of the most important parts of my life. His name is Tag and he is absolutely perfect. I also have a cat named Skimbleshanks and he is huge! I am obviously an animal person! :D I just love them. My best friend is more like sister and I am so grateful for her example to me. I love my family. There really is nothing like having a family that supports you. I enjoy making friends and getting to know people. I am very much a people person. I hope this quality will serve me well as I serve the Lord for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

It took me a while to actually become a member of the Church. I had taken the discussions a lot when I was little. But it wasn't until 2006 when my cousin got married in the Salt Lake City Temple. I walked on Temple Square and I don't know what happened. I just started crying. I could feel the Spirit so strong. I knew I needed to really investigate the Church. But this time is was for me. No one else. I went home and I started taking the lessons. But my friends had taken it upon themselves to stop me from "doing the wrong thing". They wrote hurtful emails and being a 15 year old girl and very much controlled by my peers, I listened to them. I didn't want to loose my friends. It wasn't until my Senior year in high school that I decided I was my own person. I wasn't going to let my friends control my life anymore. I finally realized it was my life, it was my decision to make. So I started taking the lessons again. This was I believe the 14th set of missionaries I had been through. But I again wanted to make sure I was doing this for myself. So I made sure I could take the discussions with Sister Missionaries. It was the best decision I made. They brought so much support and I did honestly feel like I was ready to be baptized. I set my baptismal date for Oct 20th, 2007. I was 17 when I got baptized and I don't regret it in the least bit. I have had situations that I have had to make tough decisions, but I know that I have always ended up making the right ones for me. This gospel is so true. And I am grateful for it. Words don't do it justice... but it means so much.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my following the commandments. But I also strive to make sure I am setting a good example not just for other people but for myself. If I know I am doing what I am supposed to be doing everyday, my days go better. They just do... its hard to explain but all I can do is promise you that there always seems to be a difference. I also look to the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a good example of how to live my faith. They set the bar high but it is important to try.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Tannah Marie O'Banion
This Gospel is all about helping everyone. They don't have to be members for us to show that we care about everyone. We believe in service. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of truly loving everyone. And we believe wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ as our savior. We want to model our lives after Him. To live like Christ is to love everyone we come in contact with. To be there for them. If we can show people the love of Christ through ourselves, that is a very powerful thing. It brings hope to mankind. Show more Show less
