Hi I'm Wes Allred

I love working at scout camps, playing cello, and running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in ninth grade, and I love reading and writing. My hobbies include running cross country for my high school, and playing tennis. I play and love to listen to all types of music for cellos. I participate in a robotics competition, and I love building things and using computers. I have six other siblings, who I love, and one semi-annoying cat.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the gospel, and my parents have always been a great example to me. They've taught me everything I've needed to know to make good choices. That's not to say that I always have, I've goofed things up just as often as anyone, but being a Latter Day Saint reminds me that no matter what I do, through repentance and the atonement of Jesus, I can get up and keep pressing on.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serve as a member of a presidency in a boy's priesthood group. I hometeach, or regularly visit and talk with, three families in my ward. On the first Sunday of each month I assist in collection of Fast Offerings and I prepare and pass the sacrament during sacrament meeting every Sunday. I'm also a member of a Varsity Scout team.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Wes Allred
Mormons believe that the bible is the Word of God, but during translation and other occurrences, many truths were lost from it. This belief is best explained in the Eighth Article of Faith, which says we believe the bible to be the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God. The Book of Mormon supports and add testimony to the Bible of Jesus Christ and the gospel. Show more Show less
