Hi I'm Ammon

I'm a surfer, musician, and I come from a broken home. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have surfed all over the West Coast; it's one of my favorite things in the world. I love to perform all types of music. Reggae, blues, rock, folk, you name it. I started playing jazz in high school and have been studying it ever since then. I am currently going to college studying Criminology and Psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but I've searched for answers of my own. My parents divorced when I was halfway through high school. The Church teaches about eternal families and unconditional love. For me it was difficult to understand how my parents could separate and still hold such values. I continued going to church only because my mom wanted me to. Once I left home for college, I stopped going. At first, I felt like my life was fine. However, I started going down hill, slowly at first and then rapidly. I was desperate and depressed. My soul was torn and I felt lost. Before I left the church, I knew who I was and where I was going. But after I left the church I had no direction at all. Eventually a church member reached out to me. He helped me find my way back and helped me feel that my Savior, Jesus Christ, still loved me. I got my life back on track and I realized that my Father in Heaven had been watching out for me all along. I learned through my trials that families can be forever and it is up to each of us to make that decision or not. Sometimes marriages don't work out and issues cannot be resolved. But through the atonement of Jesus Christ those issues can be reconciled. I know that to be true.

How I live my faith

I am preparing myself to be a full-time missionary for the LDS Church. I often visit members of my community and serve them in whatever way I can. I try to do as many service things as I can from cleaning up parks to donating blood I always want to help. I do it because I try my best to follow the example that Jesus Christ set for me.
