Hi I'm Emily

I'm the oldest of four. I'm preparing to serve a mission in Japan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up moving around a lot and have had the chance to enjoy a lot of the United States. I love to play the piano, climb trees, but most of all to read. I just finished up my first year of college, Majoring in English. What I really want to do with my life is become a Juvenile Fiction Editor, reading and improving books would be my job! I'm the oldest of four kids and have been blessed with amazing parents. An even bigger goal for me than becoming an editor is to one day be a mom and raise my kids just like my parents have raised me.

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I have been raised a Mormon; but that's not why I am one now. Growing up there were times when I lived in communities with very few other Mormons around and it was places like those that showed me what a blessing the gospel has been in my life. I would see other people who seemed lost, who didn't have a purpose beyond goofing off in High School and trying to play it cool, and it seemed so sad to me that they didn't know about the truth. They didn't realize that they are children of a loving Heavenly Father. They didn't know that our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ offered his life and suffering as a ransom for our sins. They did not have the light of the gospel that can fill a person, a church, a home, and make it a place that you long to return to. It wasn't until I went to college that I realized just what a blessing this gospel is and how much it has meant in my life. I know who I am. I know why I'm here. And I want nothing more than to share that with as many people as I can.

How I live my faith

Church has always been fun for me. From church meetings where you can feel the spirit and know that the gospel is true, to youth activities where you can hang out and have good clean fun. I was on the youth committee that planned our youth dances and I always loved decorating and getting everything ready and then just having a blast with my friends at a dance that didn't have any of the inappropriate stuff you see at school dances these days. Currently I am preparing to serve a year and a half mission in Japan and am excited to have the chance to share the gospel with the world.
