Hi I'm Wes Scott

I'm from Colorado. I love sports, especially to swim and play water polo. I'm a twin, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Arizona into a family that was already a member of the church along with a twin brother. I have one older brother and two wonderful parents. I have grown up as a competitive swimmer all of my life. I competed at the state level my senior year in high school, along with being the team captain of the high school team for two years. As a senior in high school, I also achieved my Eagle Scout Award, and joined a Water Polo team. I decided that after my two year mission for the church, I would attend Utah State University. My best friend is also my oldest friend I have had, and I love her. I love sports, especially water sports. I am a neat freak. I strive to exemplify attributes of Christ in everything that I do. I love serving people and teaching the Gospel, and sharing my Testimony.

Why I am a Mormon

Originally I was born into the church so I basically went to this church because my parents were going to it. I never really thought too much of it when I was younger. When I started high school, I noticed that there was something different about the kids that were not members of my church, and so I sort of avoided most of them. I would say that I became converted early on in high school because I found that I was happiest with other members of the church and knew that all that I had learned when I was younger and what I was currently learning in the church was true. I continue to follow His gospel because it is true and makes me happy. I know that when I am around members of the church, of learning about His gospel, I feel happier and I always want to have that with me, which is why I have decided to serve a mission because I want others to experience the same joy that I do. Now I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and love every minute of it. This Church has changed my life and helping to gain personal skills that will enhance my way of life later. I am currently learning Spanish which is an amazing feat because I am now bilingual. I know that this Church is true because if it wasn't I would not be serving a mission right now. I know that without God, I can do nothing. I am Mormon, because I know that all my strength comes my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

There are many ways that someone can live their faith, I live my faith by representing Christ in all that think, do, and say. I serve others. If I truly want to live my faith, I will try my best to be like our Savior Jesus Christ, and do those things that He would have me do. I simply live in a way that would bring me closer to Christ. I strive to be an example in all I do.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Wes Scott
Why do we need a Savior? That is such an important question to answer. All of us, everybody that has ever lived, lives, or will live, will make mistakes or commit sins, we cannot avoid it because it is in our nature, we are human. The only person that has ever lived and still lives that is without mistakes, or sin, is Jesus Christ. He was and is perfect. His purpose was to come to the Earth, teach His Gospel, and ultimately sacrifice Himself for all mankind for us to have the chance to become perfect like Him. Jesus Christ is our Savior, He made it possible for us to be able to repent, and receive forgiveness from God our Father in Heaven. With Sin we cannot have Eternal Life, and because of the fact that we are human, we are full of sin, Without our Savior, without Jesus Christ, we are nothing. We must do all we can to follow Him and be as perfect as we can to receive forgiveness from our sins. Show more Show less
