Hi I'm Diantha

I'm a teacher, researcher, and traveller. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I discovered my love of teaching when I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Seoul, Korea. I taught elementary school for six years (2nd and 3rd grade), and then decided to get a Master's degree in literature and writing. I now teach persuasive writing to college students, and I absolutely love my job. My students are incredible, and I learn from them every day. When I'm not teaching I like to travel. My favorite places to go are in the Middle East. If you haven't visited the Haiga Sophia, Umayyad Mosque, or Petra, you should add them to your bucket list!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon and felt peace come into my life. Over time I came to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God, and it has helped me to understand (and apply) other scripture- especially the New Testament- into my life. As I continue to read it I feel my faith in Christ continue to grow. I didn't come to know the Church of Jesus Christ was true all at once. I learned it one day at a time. I plan on a lifetime of learning. I know God loves me, and I know that because of his Son, I will one day see as I am seen, and "know" as "I am known" (1 Corinthians 13:12).

How I live my faith

When I want to feel closer to God I sing, pray, read from the Bible or Book of Mormon, or just go for a walk. I find that whenever I reach for God, I can always feel him reaching back. In my local congregation, I serve as part of an activities committee. Basically my job is to help plan fun, monthly activities that help single people make friends and maybe even find that "special someone." We hike, do service projects, have dance parties, and eat a lot of good food. Anyone single is welcome, and we're always looking for new ideas for activities- if you've got one, let me know!
