Hi I'm Kelsey Lynn McCarter

I'm an artist, I love my family, I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I'm a Mormon -- and a missionary!

About Me

I am 20 years old, and currently serving my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Salt Lake City South Mission of Utah. I grew up in the church, and can not imagine my life without the Gospel, His Church, and all the people I know through the many wards I've lived in. I am an illustration artist, and when I'm not drawing I love to find the good in the things of the world, such as in movies, music, and art. Through my talents I am also able to share my God given gift with others, and it lifts my heart when I can make others smile or have a good laugh. I would love to work for Pixar, or DC/Marvel Comics.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, not just because I was born into the church as it were -- I'm a Mormon because I love the Latter-Day Saints. They are kind, friendly, willing, and fun to be around. As a child and all the way up until I was 17, we moved around the East Coast a lot for my dad's work. I've gone to several schools, gained and lost friends over the course of all these years, and it has been very challenging. But I always found peace when I went to Church. No matter where I was, I could go to Church on Sunday and feel the Lord's powerful love for me in the atmosphere and in the people. Even when I didn't want to go, I always felt a little better if I went to church anyways. In dark times my prayers would be answered and I would be comforted and feel His loving arms quite literally go around me. His Gospel is true, Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us, and He wants us to come back to Him. Being a member of His Church, being a Latter-Day Saint really is a part of me, I have grown to know this and I do not doubt it. I love my religion, my family, and my friends, and I don't know where I'd be without them. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Singing hymns during sacrament meeting on Sunday always brings the Spirit, and singing is one of the ways I love to express my feelings to Heavenly Father. -- Currently I'm serving a full-time misison, which is 18 months, and I could not imagine doing anything else! I love the Lord, my Savior Jesus Christ, so much more now, and doing His work brings me joy. I would never have guessed that I would be on a mission, teaching the gospel to those who are in darkness to bring them to the light and to the fullness of the truth. It's awesome! Nothing is more important than to be an example, like Christ. We must live what we believe, that's a mark of a true disciple of Jesus Christ and that we love Heavenly Father.
