Hi I'm Becca Snow

I'm from Idaho. I'm an artist and an adventurer. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a deep appreciator of art and music. I've had a passion for them both since I was too young to know the meaning of anything. So anybody can guess that I'm an art major...which is what I am in fact. :) I also play guitar, a little piano, and I sing. I am a part of a big Mormon family of seven kids. I have been thorough a year of college and I'm preparing to serve a mission. I'm hopeful and I have faith that my future is bright and that I'll be able to fulfill my hopes, dreams, and desires that align with the Lord's. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born under the covenant (meaning I was born into the church). But my membership isn't as passive as that. Growing up I was vastly influenced by my mother's conversion story. Her parents got divorced when she was only 7 and then she somehow knew that she existed before and that Heavenly Father had a plan for her. 2 years later missionaries knocked on her door. She answered it and when she shook their hands she KNEW that the church was true. It took her 2 years to convince her dysfunctional mother to let her join the church. She then lived a very hard life and learned to rely on the Lord. Eventually she visited Utah and met my dad. She got married and had me. She wanted to serve a mission but she married my dad instead. I get to serve a mission as her legacy. I have a strong testimony of missionary work and how it can change millions of lives through the generations. I want to be able to impact families forever just like mine was. I know that families can be together forever and that the temple is the holy place to do that. The temple is Heavenly Father's holy house where we can covenant and draw closer to him. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was translated by a true prophet called by God in these later-days. I have read it many times and it has helped me through many storms and tempests. It is truly a wonderful book where I can feel of God's love. I know that God speaks to us. He has answered my prayers through others than love me as God loves me. I know that he loves me perfectly and unconditionally. He sent his son to atone for me because of that love. I feel his love and hand every day! He knows what's best for me and I desire to follow him throughout my life. I know that if we are faithful to Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost then we will be faithful to others. I know that if we love others as God loves we can become like him. I love this gospel and I love you all! :)

How I live my faith

I've never had callings of vast importance to the church, but that doesn't mean that I don't do a lot for the church. I do my part by serving my fellow men and learning to love them and understand them like God does. I'll be able to prove that as I serve the Lord for 18 months in one of the most important callings I can ever have: a full time missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. :)

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Becca Snow
We believe in the Bible as stated in the 8th Article of Faith. "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." The Bible contains gospel truths from Adam until the ministry of the Apostles such as Paul, Peter, and John the Beloved. There is much to learn of Christ through the Bible. The Bible draws us closer to Christ. We regard the Bible very, very highly as holy scripture. We love the scriptures so much that we have the Book of Mormon which is about Christ's sheep in the Americas and how they served Christ. Like in the New Testament, Christ visited and taught the people in the Americas. That can be seen in 3rd Nephi. We also have the Doctrine and Covenants which are scriptures regarding the restoration of the church through Joseph Smith. We also have the Pearl of Great Price which are revelations that Joseph Smith had about Abraham and Moses. We regard scriptures very highly. They are a source of strength to us. They answer the most prominent questions in our lives. God truly speaks to his children through the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. Show more Show less
