Hi I'm Rachel Lynde Raccuia

I grew up in beautiful Utah! I love my family, smiling, playing piano, and elephants, and I choose happiness :)

About Me

I have lived in Utah my whole life, and have always been a member of this Church! Some of my favorite things to do include playing the piano, singing, taking pictures, hanging out with my family/friends, and smiling. I have played the piano for about ten years now, accompanying the choir at my elementary school/high school at numerous concerts, playing in the orchestra pit for my high school musical, and being employed as a choir accompanist at a high school near my house! I have played at weddings, funerals, and many church meetings. It is a big part of my life, and I hope to continue developing that talent! I have always loved singing, and have been in choirs for school and/or church since kindergarten. I am known for my love of taking pictures! I don't think there's a better way to capture candid memories :) my family members are my best friends! I am very close to all of my siblings and cousins, and we are all about being loud and laughing. You will never see me without a smile on my face. I am a very positive person and I don't like making people upset, or giving the people the impression that something is bothering me. I am very easy going, I don't care what people think about me, and I just like to have fun, and make people happy :) life is too short to be anything but! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church since I was born. My whole family has always been members, so my testimony came when I was young. I have been through many, many trials in my life, and I have learned the hard way, that it is NEVER worth it to sacrifice eternal TRUE happiness, for temporary FAKE happiness. Eternal happiness comes from this gospel, and I did not come to know that by simply being told. I had to learn it for myself, and it is the greatest lesson I've ever learned. This gospel is HAPPINESS. True, real, lasting happiness. Because of that knowledge, I want to do everything I can to help as many people as possible, be able to feel it all the time like I do. I know this gospel is true. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on the earth today. I know that through the powers and blessings of the temple, families can be together FOREVER. I know that God lives. I know that He loves every single one of His children. I know that there is no "too far" or "too late". I know that God's arms are always stretched out to every single one of us, no matter how many mistakes me have made. I know that His love for us will NEVER change, NO MATTER WHAT. I don't have one doubt in my mind of the truth of this gospel. I know it is true. I know that this is the ONLY way we can obtain true happiness! I am a Mormon because it makes me happy; and I Choose Happiness. :)

How I live my faith

I love doing service, my dad has always been a big example to me about that. Whenever there is an opportunity to serve or help somebody out, he is always the first one there! That is how I have grown up, and I find so much joy in helping those in need. I was the ward organist for my ward for just over a year, which was a huge blessing to me. I feel the spirit the most through music, and it is a big part of my life. I am always striving to be an example to the youth around me; I know how important a good influence is at that stage of life, having learned the hard way. I am always praying for help to be better because I know I am no where near perfect, but I am always trying my best to lift others up and make them happy! I pray many times a day and read and study my scriptures every day. I take every opportunity I can to share my testimony and be a missionary to everyone I come in contact with, meaning, in my mind, making them happy. The happiness that this gospel brings is not comparable to any other feeling, and I am always doing everything I can to keep it with me. I only hope to be able to share it with as many people as I can!! :)
