Hi I'm Byron

I'm from a small town. I enjoy helping people. I love adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family. I'm number six of seven. I just love life. I had a delightful childhood full of fishing, shooting BB guns and going on camping trips with the Boy Scouts. In high school I was very involved with wrestling, cross country and my school's speech, debate and business clubs. When I was 17 I joined the Utah Army National Guard where my love of serving my fellow-man really began and was able to gain some unique perspective on a brief deployment to Iraq in 2011. I have a very inquisitive mind and have always been intrigued with the way things work. Whether it's mechanics, people, or even God, I continuously seek for understanding of why things are the way they are. I love to ask questions. They are the only way to find answers!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a great family of Latter-Day Saints, all full to some degree with faith. There came a time for me, as it does for everyone, that I had to learn to find out what I had been brought up learning was true. I had a whole multitude of doubts and fears and questions. I wondered if a God even existed. I wanted to believe, but I wasn't sure how I could believe in something that I couldn't see. I was pretty concerned about this, so I asked someone who I already know, my mom. She taught me a lesson that I will forever be grateful for. She shared with me John 7:17 from the New Testament, that basically says if you want to find out if something is true, you have to live by it. So, I took my sweet mother up on the challenge and lived the gospel to the best of my ability. During that time, I saw God's power manifested in my life. It's amazing that something so simple as trusting in Heavenly Father can make such a big difference. I have been living the gospel and myy relationship with Him has been getting stronger and stronger ever since.

How I live my faith

I believe that the best part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that it is something that can be lived every day and is very practical. God loves us, and because His love is so great for us, He gives us guidance and direction for our every-day lives. I do my best to pattern my life after the life of the Savior. As we all do, I slip up and some choices I've made have distanced me from Heavenly Father. That's why I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ, which allows us to be reconciled with God. Because of the peace, direction and closeness to God that living the gospel affords me, I try to always look out for anyone who is in need of the ray of hope that I can provide. I love sharing the gospel!
