Hi I'm Kristy

I grew up in California. I have been called to serve as a full-time missionary in the Idaho Boise Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of seven kids, and I love being part of a big family. I am not one of those people that you would characterize as being "loud," but I am loud when it comes to the things I believe and the things/people that I love. I love to read, write, and play guitar. As cheesy as it sounds, I also love to put smiles on people's faces and to make people laugh. I am happiest when I am helping other people. After my mission, I will be going off to BYU and majoring in Biology. I am still not quite sure on what career I want to pursue, but I know that I love Biology. I love to learn. I am one of those people who likes to know why things work the way that they do. I am also a Type 1 Diabetic. In my immediate family, three of the kids have Diabetes. I was diagnosed when I was four. People ask me all the time if I hate having Diabetes, and I always tell them "no." Diabetes has helped to shape me into the person that I am today. It has taught me responsibility and self-discipline that I may not have learned otherwise. It has made me grateful in so many ways as well. I love being who I am, and I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because no matter how crazy life may become, I know that I am never alone. I know that I am a daughter of a patient and loving Heavenly Father, who wants what is best for all of His children. He sent all of us to Earth so that we may experience joy and become more like Him-but in order to do this, He knew that we would also need to experience pain and to suffer from time-to-time. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer the pains and afflictions of all mankind. I love being a Mormon because I have the knowledge that no matter what I go through or how alone I may feel, there is someone that has been there before and knows exactly what I am going through-and that's the Savior. He suffered so that He would know how to help us in our times of trial. That knowledge brings me so much comfort and joy. I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to acquire that knowledge, comfort, and joy for themselves. That is why I strive each day to be an example of Him, and that is why I have chosen to serve the Lord on a mission for a year and a half of my life.

How I live my faith

I was eighteen when the age change for missionaries was announced. I remember saying to myself, "Wow! I could go in a year!" And guess what?! That's just what I did! I have been called to serve in the Idaho Boise Mission, and I am so excited to take on this new adventure of my life. I live my faith by doing my best to strengthen the faith of others. I strive to live as the Savior did.
