Hi I'm Barbara

LDS convert for over a decade, I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

LDS convert for over a decade. I'm a wife, mother of three, grandmother of eight, great grandmother of 4. I have been blessed to have all my children and grandchildren are within an hour drive so I can enjoy them often. I'm retired, but not too tired to do genealogy, visit teaching & other church duties & activities along with homemaking and travel nationally and abroad. I have been on a couple cruises and loved them. I enjoy cooking and inviting the missionaries over to eat and talk about the gospel. I enjoy doing genealogy, I often forget the time when looking up my ancestors and have found a few relatives on ancestry.com and hope to find more.I hope to travel more in the near future; I want to visit as many of the LDS temples as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I avoided the church for ten years, my sister was Mormon and I lived with her for years while going through a divorce. I remember when the members came over I would either leave or go to my room, they always ask if I would like to join them, it was not my time yet. I would stay on occasion and listen but as I said it was not my time. I moved out on my own and one day to my surprise two very nice missionaries came to my house and asked if they could talk to me. well I guess it was my time because I read the book of Mormon and prayed and ask heavenly father if this was the true church and should I join and I received my answer. I know this is where I should be.

How I live my faith

I try to read my scriptures every day and I try to go to church activities when we have them. I help people if it is needed like cook meals for someone who is sick, go visit members and non members when I can. I am a ward missionary and I enjoy sharing the Gospel with anyone who is willing to listen. I am not perfect so I will tell you I fail to read sometimes and life gets in the way but I get back on track quickly because I know my heavenly father loves me and will always be there for me.
