Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in San Diego, CA. I have a masters degree. I love music. I'm a wife, a mother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a big family and I loved every minute of it. My parents are hard working, loving, hilarious people. I have learned so much from them about how to be a good person. In high school I was a huge choir nerd, and the tradition continues today. I met my husband in the dorms our freshman year of college. Our daughter is such a blessing in our life and she reminds me every day that being her mom is my most important job!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church. As I started high school I felt like I needed to really explore the teachings of the church. I attended scripture study classes each morning throughout high school. I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed every day. As I did these things I felt at peace and I felt safe. I felt that God was aware of me and loved me. The more I read the scriptures and pray the more I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church on the earth today. As I live the principles taught in the church my life is in balance and I am better able to express my love to my family, friends, and neighbors. I feel like I have purpose and my personal relationship with God motivates me to continue to live true to my faith.

How I live my faith

I try every day to do things that bring me closer to my Heavenly Father. I try to only watch and listen to things that are uplifting. I have served in the LDS church in several different capacities; currently I help lead and provide music for our Sunday meetings. Every month a friend and I visit with women in our congregation, building friendships and trying to find ways to meet any current needs they might have. I am also visited each month by women in our congregation. These visits are a highlight for me and remind me that as we care for each other we recognize how important each of us are to Heavenly Father.
