Hi I'm Kofi Johnson

I grew up in Accra, Ghana. I'm adopted, I'm a missionary, I love Soccer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Francis Kofi Johnson. I go by Kofi, which means I was born on Friday, so I guess that's cool to let everyone know haha:) I grew up in Accra, Ghana. My mother passed away when I was 8 years old. After her passing I ended up living in an orphanage for 7 years. When I was 15 years old I met the Johnson family, they later adopted me bringing me to Alpine, Utah. Where I spent the last 3 years until I was called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I attended Lone Peak High school and I loved it. I played soccer for three years and also played in the school band as well. I was introduce to the Gospel by the missionaries. They taught me for three months until I decided to get baptized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 16. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I knew the church was true because the Book of Mormon was teaching me something that I've been looking for. I am now serving my mission in Birmingham, Alabama. I love helping people and especially sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with my brothers and sisters in the South. I love my savior Jesus Christ. When I return home from my 2 year mission, I will be playing for the BYU men's soccer team. My favorite soccer player of all time is Zinedine Zidane. I enjoy drumming and basketball, my favorite basketball player is LeBron James.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was first adopted I did not want anything to do with the Mormon church. The missionaries kept stopping by and I finally felt bad and thought that I should listen to them. After a few meetings the spirit started to speak to me and I knew I wanted to be baptized. I already loved Jesus Christ and so I really felt that the Mormon church just added more to what I knew. I love Eternal families. My mom passed when I was 8 years old and I can't wait to reunite with her again. I love the temple and the promises we are given if we live worthy. I also love the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how it can reclaim us from our sins. These are some of the reasons why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by following the light of Christ. I love Jesus Christ. I love to follow him. I got baptized when I was 16 years old so I haven't been a member for too long. I grew up in West Africa Ghana in a Methodist Church where I played the drums. It was hard for me at first to come into the Mormon church because everyone was so quiet. I was use to loud drums, singing and dancing. I soon realized that they were being reverent and that the spirit can't speak to us if there is too much noise and distraction. Blessing and Passing the sacrament on Sundays was something that I enjoyed doing. I love going to our Youth activities on Wednesday nights.
