Hi I'm Mairyn

I love cooking and baking and food. I love spending time outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old. I have a passion for food and creating deliciousness. Finding new and exciting foods and restaurants to try is a hobby for me. I would love to go to culinary school and pursue a career in the food industry. I love to read and learn, I spend my spare time reading books outdoors when I can, maybe with some hot cocoa, and I'll almost always choose nonfiction over fiction. I love being outside and exploring new things and places. Someday I'll try skydiving, bungee jumping, etc. I love exciting adventures, and I would like to travel. I love to go country dancing and camping. I could not imagine a day without laughter, and I am silly enough to name giggling as a hobby. I love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I can't imagine my life without the presence of a Loving God and His Spirit in my life. My parents raised me as a Mormon, but as a teenager I wasn't sure that it was for me. I stopped going to church and was not living a good or even happy life. Sometimes people say that you have to hit rock bottom to be able to rise up, and I was pretty close to hitting the bottom. I realized that this was not how I wanted my life to turn out, and the only thing that I could think of that would help me was finding God. I made a decision right then that I needed to change. Shortly after, I found myself in a setting where the Holy Spirit could testify to me the truth of this gospel and the LDS Church. I was able to feel the spirit so strongly for the first time in a long time, and I needed to do everything I could to always have this influence and peace and happiness in my life. I am a Mormon because I have never been happier before. I know the feeling of joy and peace in my life, and I know without a doubt, that this gospel is true. We are meant to be happy and the gospel provides the way to eternal happiness. This knowledge has blessed my life so much. That's why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve those around me. I try to love everyone and help whenever I can. I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission to Mexico for 18 months where I will be able to share my beliefs and help those around me in Mexico. I continue to live and remember my faith throughout the week, not just on Sundays to always help me to try my best.
