Hi I'm Nick

I'm from Minnesota. I love sports and music. I'm serving a mission is Sydney, Australia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Nick. I am an athlete who loves sports of all kinds. I played baseball for about 12 years, basketball for 8 years, soccer for 1 year, track & field for 9 years, and football for 3 years. I made it to state my senior year of high school in track for the high jump with a personal record of 6'3". My favorite sport is definitely basketball, followed by football. Another passion I have is music. I play the piano, trumpet, and guitar. I was in band for 6 years and choir for 2 years. I was apart of an A Capella singing group my senior year of high school with 8 other boys and I am considering joining choir at the college level. I am currently enrolled in college with a plan of one day becoming an orthodontist. I am unsure about my major but am considering chemistry and applied science. I was apart of Boy Scouts of America when I was a youth and was very dedicated to the program. I received my Eagle Scout rank at the age of 13, two days before my 14th birthday.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been lucky enough to be a Mormon my entire life. As I have grown, both physically and spiritually, I have come to a testimony of my own that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. The teachings and lessons that are taught in church meetings always focus on caring about those around you and to be a good person. No matter where you travel, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same. The church has the answers to any and all of my questions about any topic of the gospel. It's a great feeling to know that I have a purpose on this earth, that I am a son of a loving heavenly father, and that I will always have a companion at my side (the holy ghost) to guide me through life's challenges.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my everyday thoughts and actions. I try to be the perfect example to people around me at all times, whether I know them personally or not. I treat everyone as a wonderful son and daughter of our Heavenly Father. I am about to leave on a two-year mission to Sydney, Australia and am doing everything I can to prepare myself. I read the Book of Mormon and Bible daily, along with other church literature like Preach my Gospel. I try to apply their teachings to my life so I can be like my loving savior, Jesus Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Nick
Figuring out if Mormonism is true or not is simple. All you have to do is have an open heart and mind and pray to your heavenly father asking him if it is the true church of Jesus Christ. When you pray and ask with sincerity, I can promise you that you will get a warm feeling. That warm feeling is the Holy Ghost, who is your personal companion and will help you find the truth in all things. As you go to church, give service and continue on the path of righteousness, you will be feel that warm feeling more and more. Missionaries and church members would be more than happy to help educate you on different topics of the church, but in the end you must find out for yourself, through honest prayer, if the church is true and gain a testimony of your own. Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Nick
Absolutely! That's one of the many great things about this church, that families can be together forever. We believe that marriage is very important and sacred. Family members that accept the Atonement of Jesus Christ and follow his commandments can be sealed together forever. Think about it logically, how could heaven be heaven without your family there beside you? Show more Show less
