Hi I'm Kathy Santiago Allen

I'm a wife, a mom to 5 kids, a nurse, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of 7 children, raised in Provo, Utah. I was taught that I could be anything I wanted to be--if I worked hard enough to achieve those goals. I studied nursing in college and loved working as a nurse because it allowed me to connect with and help people. Now I have my dream job: being a full time mom to our 5 children. I am doing what I've always wanted to do--teaching, loving, nurturing, and caring for those I love most. And I am lucky to have a husband that also recognizes the most important work we do is within the walls of our own home. I'm not "just" a mom. I am the guardian of 5 precious children of God. I have been entrusted with these 5 gifts. Is it easy? Nope. But there is no place I'd rather be than with my family. I enjoy being active--hiking, exercise, swimming with my kids. I love the beach. I love a beautiful sunset. We live in a gorgeous world and I love to take it all in.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is who I am. It is ingrained in everything I do each day as I try to be honest, kind, prayerful. I was born to believing parents who taught me about God, Jesus Christ, and His church. I learned for myself that God is my Father and that He loves me. I learned for myself that Christ is my Savior, that He has a plan for me and for my family. I am thankful I can share this plan with my children so they know they are children of God, so they know where they came from, why they are here on earth, and where they are going. We live in a troubled world. Knowing where to turn for peace and guidance is one of the greatest gifts I've been given.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good neighbor and friend. I want anyone who crosses my path to feel loved, appreciated, and valued. My dad used to ask me (quoting a hymn), "Have you done any good in the world today?" Hopefully I can answer "YES!" every day. My service at Church is to the other ladies that attend my congregation. Together we learn about our Savior Jesus Christ and how we can follow Him.
