Hi I'm Jake

I've grown up in the United States. I recently graduated from high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports! I played lacrosse all throughout high school and junior high. We are the defending district champions and state runner up. I also love biking. I road bike competitively and mountain bike just for fun. I just love being outdoors. I also love spending time with family and friends, who all mean the world to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because I know without a doubt that the church is true. Although I was raised in the church, my parents let me choose if I wanted to be a part of it or not. I have found out for myself that it is true, and that is why I remain a member. I have felt the overwhelming confirmation that God loves me and that I'm making the right decision by following Christ and being a member of this church. I know that true happiness comes from following Christ and doing what I've been asked of by my Father in Heaven. I know why I'm here, and more importantly I know where I'm going. The church just makes sense. I know that anyone can feel that it is true, just like I did, if they ask God, being humble and willing to listen. I want everyone to be a member of this church so they can feel the same happiness I get from it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each week and by doing what is asked of me by the church. Each week of church is a great blessing, and I can feel the love of our Heavenly Father every time I attend. As a part of the church, we participate in a lot of service, helping families around the community who are in need. Along with this, we are assigned a group of families to visit once a month, which we call home teaching. We check up on them and help them in any ways we can.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

The best way you can gain a relationship with your Heavenly Father is by praying continually. You can pray whenever and as many times as you feel necessary. The more you pray, the more you will feel a relationship build, and you will understand your Heavenly Father better. Other ways you can come to know your Heavenly Father is by reading scriptures, which are testimonies of Him and by keeping His commandments. Knowing your Father in Heaven starts as a belief, but as you continue to do these things your belief will eventually become a sure knowledge. Show more Show less
