Hi I'm Crystal

I am a homemaker. I play the piano for the school choir. I love family history. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My two youngest daughters sing in the Elementary School Choir. This is an amazing choir! Along with my dear friend, I help accompany the choir. I love having this opportunity. There is nothing so sweet as hearing children sing. I am not a terrific pianist, but love the challenge to develop my talents and to use them to do good. I am a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Geography. I gained my love for geography from my Dad who also loves to take road trips and read maps. We have driven on many backroads all over the country. I have been married to an incredible man for almost 22 years. He is my best friend. We love the outdoors and spending time together with and sometimes without our children. We enjoy skiing in the winter and hiking and boating in the summer. He is a terrific father. He is especially good at helping our oldest two boys with their math. I love him for that. I am grateful that we share in the responsibilities of parenthood. Parenting is a great adventure with joy and sorrows, ups and downs and the constant practicing of patience. I love learning about our ancestors. I wonder about their lives and about the struggles they overcame. I like to teach my own children about those who have lived before us and are interested in how we are living our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a very good home. My parents taught me the gospel by the way that they lived. I gained a testimony of the gospel as a child. I have always felt that Heavenly Father blessed me to be believing. Because of this belief I exercise faith and pray daily and read the scriptures daily. I know that the Bible and The Book of Mormon are the word of God. I attend church regularly and attend the temple regularly. As I partake of the sacrament each Sunday I renew my baptismal covenants to always remember Jesus and to keep His commandments. I have taken His name upon me which means that I will strive to follow Him. I know that because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ that I can repent and be forgiven for the things I do that are wrong. Because of Jesus Christ we can improve. He has helped me to overcome many weaknesses and continues to help me become a better person. Most of all, I have felt the sweet peace and happiness that comes when we have faith in Jesus Christ and strive to follow Him.

How I live my faith

I have the great opportunity to be the President of our local church organization for Young Women ages 12 to 18. There are 31 girls in our group. These girls are incredible. They dont smoke or drink or use inappropriate language. They are living lives of high moral standards. They are virtuous! And they are all beautiful. Their eyes shine with hope for the future. They look forward to getting married in one of our temples. They believe in having a family and raising their children. These Young Women believe in Jesus Christ. They have faith that he has atoned for their sins and can that they can be forgiven as they continually repent. Their faces shine with goodness and love. How grateful I am to meet with these girls each Sunday and each Tuesday for a midweek activity. In our Sunday lesson we talk about how the scriptures can help them to have strength to resist tempation and overcome difficulties they face. We discuss what a living Prophet and Apostles teach to help them feel the love of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. We share personal experiences with each other about things we experience as we strive to follow Jesus Christ. Most importantly these Young Women testify to each other about their belief in God and that He hears and answers our prayers. We feel the Holy Ghost testify to each of us that we are all spirit daughters of God and that He loves us and ALL of His children. My greatest desire is to be a true follower of Jesus Christ. I want to love others as he does. I want to lift others up and help bring them unto Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and the Savior and Redeemer of the world.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Crystal
We believe in families! We believe that a man and a woman can be married in the temple and that if we remain true to the covenants we make of keeping the commandments, that our marriage will last beyond this life. We believe that Heavenly Father will help us through all the difficulties and challenges that parents face in raising children. Raising children in a Christ Centered home can bring us true joy and lasting happiness. I am very grateful for my faithful husband and good children. My greatest desire is to do everything I can to help our family be together forever. Show more Show less
