Hi I'm Dylan Parrish

I am from Idaho. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am Dylan Parrish and I was born and raised in Idaho. I am the youngest of 5 children and have two loving parents. I love having four seasons to run and play around in. I enjoy the spring and fall because it is not to cold and not to hot. Currently I am an accounting student at University. I always enjoy doing active things. For some reason, even though I've only gone a few times, I like to go mountain biking. My entire life I have always been active in sports even though I wasn't the best at them. I especially enjoy a pick up game of basketball on occasion with my friends. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the wonderful country of South Africa. What a wonderful opportunity I had to spend two years of my life there in the service of the Lord. I learned some valuable lessons while I was there as well. The best thing that occurred was my strengthened testimony in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony in the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Yes, I was raised in the church and even though I was I still needed a testimony for myself. As I studied the scriptures and prayed I developed a relationship with my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. Through the Holy Ghost I came to the knowledge that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration. I continue in this faith because of the testimony I have but the promises of the Lord. I live it because I want to be with my family for eternity. I am determined not to fall short and live below my potential. I hope to return to live with God in his presence for eternity and with my own family. Eternal relationships can be found and forged here on earth and carried on to the next life. What a wonderful thing.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is definitely through action. Throughout my life I was taught to do service and help those in need. I was taught to be a disciple of Chirst. I fail at times and don't do as well as I could but I am a work in progress. Prayer plays a big role in everything. I find that as I kneel in prayer it starts and ends the day the right way. And I know that Heavenly Father is listening because I feel him as I pray. I see little evidences of it throughout the day as things occur that I prayed about. Perhaps I prayed about a concern I had in accounting and that day a friend was there to assist me in my homework. Or I was looking for a way to serve and the opportunity presents itself. I do my best to be there for others. To listen or talk. I feel a great joy when a friend trusts me enough to confide in me and help them through their problems. At all times I feel the need to acknowledge God and help them know to turn to him in every situation and seek his counsel. With in the church we are asked to serve in many different ways and I have recently been called as a teacher in the church. I teach once a month and I look forward to it. The Sundays I teach are the ones that we learn from the living Prophets and Apostles and the talks they gave in the most recent General Conference. I see it as a learning opportunity for me. And even though I am in the teacher I look forward to learning from the class members and the wonderful insights they may have. All of it to strengthen my faith and continue to live what I learn.
