Hi I'm Serena Clark

I'm a sister to three brothers. I'm an athlete. I'm a girl who enjoys the outdoors. I'm a beach bum. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Provo, UT while my parents were going to school, but then moved to California and have been here ever since. I have three brothers in my family (one older and two younger). They are the best things that have happened to me! I grew up playing softball/baseball, then in high school ventured out to play water polo. I attend BYU-Idaho in the small town of Rexburg. I love it there! Love meeting people and doing all the outdoor activities. I am studying Biology Education, hoping to one day become a high school Biology teacher. I have a mission call to serve in the Philippines Quezon City North mission for the next 18 months of my life. I cannot wait to get there and be fully submerged in the culture and learn to love those people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because it is the only thing in my life that keeps me going. I have had to go through a lot of trials and struggles in my life. Not because of my own choice, but because the situation just affected me. It is because of the Gospel that I am still going. I might not know now why I have to go through these hardships, and I might not know in the near future. But that day when I get to see God again, He can tell me. The only way that I will be able to get to be in his presence is because I choose to continually follow his Gospel and teachings. In the end thats what this Gospel is all about. Inviting people to come unto Christ so that they can be perfected through his Atonement to able to see and live with Heavenly Father again. I am only going to get there if I follow in Christ's footsteps back to our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

The gospel is something that requires the faith of the members to lead themselves to action. To act in their own individual assignments to help benefit those in the church. I was a participant in the Young Women's program growing up. My leaders there helped me learn skills/talents to be able to teach. While I was away at college, I was able to teach the ladies in my ward. I helped lead discussions and talks about certain gospel principles on our Sabbath day observances. When I returned home from college for the summer, I was able to be a sunday school teacher over the youth. Although I wasn't that much older than these kids, they saw me as not only a teach but as a peer. Somebody they could look up too, ask questions, or have a private conservation with because they were struggling. The Gospel is something that brings the community together to help uplift those that are struggling and to make them stronger. You can only do that by your faith in God and his church here on the earth.
