Hi I'm Thomas

I am from Santa Barbara, California. I am serving a mission in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was lucky enough to be born into the LDS church. It has blessed my life in numerous ways and I am so thankful that I have had such faithful family members to help guide me to where I am at today. I come from a large family of 12 and I am the 9th of 10 kids. I have loved growing up in a large family and it is such an incredible time when we are all able to get together. I have played football, basketball, and baseball throughout my life, but I have played football since I was about 5 years old. Football has always been my main focus in athletics and I had the privilege to serve as team captain of my varsity team. My hobbies include a little piano and guitar. I love long boarding, snowboarding, and if I am feeling very courageous, I will attempt to surf but unfortunately it never really goes the way I want it to. I attended a summer term at Brigham Young University and I plan to go back for the rest of my schooling after my mission in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina.. I entered the Missionary Training Center on October 23, 2013 and will return in October, 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into this church, that is not in any way why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have found out for myself the truthfulness of the LDS church and all of its teachings. When I was young, I would always tag along with all of my older siblings and do what ever they did, and one of those things was attending church every sunday. I looked up to all of my older siblings and they all knew without a doubt that the LDS church is true. While I was young I believed it simply because my siblings and parents did. But as I got a little bit older, my brothers and sisters began to move out and I realized I needed to find out for myself whether or not I am in the true church. My personal conversion to the church is personal to me, and it is unique for every person, but through time and my desires to know the truth I was able to obtain a strong testimony of my own, and my testimony continues to grow day by day.

How I live my faith

Put simply, I live my faith by doing all that the Lord requires of His church and of me as His son. I once heard someone say that you cannot teach someone effectively unless you are living by the things you are teaching. That is something I have always tried to stand by as I have gone through my life. I am currently serving as a missionary in Argentina, teaching and helping others come unto Christ, and if I was not living a way the Christ would have me live, I would not be able to effectively fulfil my duty as a missionary. I am grateful for every opportunity I have to serve all those who need help and I love the opportunity I have now to devote 2 years of my life to helping others and myself grow closer to God.
