Hi I'm Erika

I'm from Utah, Soccer is my life,& I will complete my bachelors degree after I serve in the Maryland Baltimore mission.

About Me

I was born and raised in a LDS family in a small town called Plain City, Utah. I have always had a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel but I really had testimony strengthening experiences when I moved to Iowa to play soccer for the first couple years of my college experience. I went from being in a religious majority to being in a religion that was in the minority. This came with several opportunities to tell people what the LDS religion was all about. I learned that the church is really the same wherever you go and the branch I attended quickly became my family away from home. After attending school out of state I decided to attend Utah State University to finish up my education. I had to trade in my soccer jersey for a Wal-Mart uniform so that I could pay for my expenses. I have been at Utah State the past two years and I only have four classes left until I graduate with my bachelors degree in Psychology. I will complete those four classes when I return from serving my heavenly father on a mission to Maryland Baltimore!

Why I am a Mormon

I am not only a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints because my parents want me to be. I am a member because I have seen how blessed my life has been. I am lucky that I was raised with this gospel and it has helped me develop a testimony of the love that my Heavenly father and Jesus have for me. I know that my heavenly father wants nothing but the best for me in this life. I am a Mormon because it is the gospel that has brought me so much peace in my life. I am really grateful for the sacrifice that Jesus made by being crucified for my sins. Because he did this for me I am able to repent of my sins each day and learn to become like him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a Christ like example to all those that I associate with. I also try and give service when I can. I volunteered at nursing home working with the music therapy group. I also work with the clinically disabled and get to have my life influenced by the light that each of them have. I also live my faith by attending all my church meetings and by fulfilling my callings.
