Hi I'm Julie

I grew up in Utah. I run a mental health agency. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read!! I also enjoy going into the mountains, cooking, and sitting on my front porch during the summer months in the evenings. I am a mom to 1 daughter in high school, and 1 kindergarten son who has autism. I'm thankful to own a mental health agency- I have a brother that committed suicide a year and a half ago- I miss him a lot, even though I know I'll see him again someday- and want to help provide help to hopefully keep others from going down that same path.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 19 I was not actively participating in my religion. I was going to college and riding the bus there. One day a neighbor of mine, my same age, asked me if I wanted to join his carpool. Being accustomed to being on my own and feeling nervous about joining, I declined. Two weeks later, during a huge snowstorm and cold air on me all the way up to school and back- I was on my walk home, and this same neighbor was in his yard again, and asked me again to join the carpool. I heard myself say yes, and I was shocked to hear myself say that! But I joined and the rest of the carpool listened to Mormon music and talked about Mormon subject matter. I ignored them and studied all the way up and back. As time went on and I found that this was continuing every day, I gradually became more and more interested. It felt good to be around them and hear the spiritual things they were talking about. I ended up fully participating in the Mormon church. I am so thankful today that I joined that carpool and that my neighbor asked me to join twice- even though I declined the first time. I know Heavenly Father helped that to happen. My life is completely different today, many years later, then it was before I joined that carpool. I'll be forever grateful to be an active part of this church and I continue daily to benefit through being a member- how blessed and good I feel, no matter what is going on in my life- good or bad. I know this church- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints/Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appear to him as two separate beings, and that's why I am a Mormon today.

How I live my faith

I am a cub scout leader- for 4 years now. I am over the Wolfs (8 year-olds). I also go with another lady I know to visit two other ladies each month to check in on them, to see how they're doing and if they need anything such as clothing, food, etc., or any service done for them. We also like to leave a spiritual message with them.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Julie
Joseph Smith is a great example to me, but I do not worship him. His obedience helped restore the true church to the earth and I am very very grateful for that. I worship my loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, who inspired Joseph Smith's actions, and he listened. Show more Show less
