Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Nebraskan living in Maine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in western Nebraska - a great place to grow up. I met my wife at college. We lived in Upstate New York for several years and we recently moved to Maine. I work in fundraising. We have five children, four boys and one lonely girl. I enjoy reading a good book. I also like to write. When it warms up outside I like to jog early in the morning. Our family likes to be outside doing things together, whether it is working on our garden or yard, or camping and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this faith, but it wasn't until I was a teenager that I started to want to know if what the Church taught was true. I decided to study the Book of Mormon and ask God, in prayer, if what I had read and studied was true. He answered me through the Holy Ghost. I had a feeling of warmth and peace that confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon is God's word. I am still a member of the Church because I often feel the Holy Ghost as I read the scriptures and pray. I know that God knows me and is interested in my life. I feel his involvement in my life.

How I live my faith

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints effects every part of my life, from the things I think about to the way I treat others. I live my faith by trying to develop and strengthen my own personal relationship with God. I read the Bible and Book of Mormon often to learn about Christ's teachings and I pray to God every day to seek his guidance in my life. My wife and I want our children to enjoy the blessings we have experienced by being members of this Church. In our family we try to read the scriptures and pray together every day. We also have one night a week set aside to spend together as a family, where we can talk about Christ and play games together. I also live my faith by helping others. I often work with others at Church to help them grow closer to Christ. I am able to meet with them at Church and also visit them in their homes to help them. Serving others is one of the most important things we do in this Church.
