Hi I'm SkyeLyn

I'm a student at BYU. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and have recently been able to spend some time living in Washington state. I love the different scenery and culture that I have been able to experience between these two states. I am a sophomore studying Social Science Education and I hope to one day teach American history to high school students. I also look forward to being a wife and a mother some day. I love hiking, soccer, boating, music, and spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life. Whenever I am faced with a trial, I know that I do not have to face it alone. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me personally and they can succor me in my weaknesses. The knowledge of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the ability that I have to repent of my sins and my mistakes so that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father brings me great joy. I know that Heavenly Father hears my prayers and will answer them in the way that is best for me. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ and His life. I feel the Spirit testify of the truth to me when I read it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as a Health and Fitness Committee member in my ward. I enjoy being able to plan fun physical activities that promote healthy living. Our bodies are a gift from God and I enjoy being able to help plan activities that show our gratitude for them by keeping them healthy and strong. I also strive to live my faith every day by being a loving daughter, sister, and friend. I try to always look for someone who needs a smile or a kind word to brighten their day. I try to serve and love others in a way that I know Christ would.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our loving Heavenly Father. He created the earth for us to enjoy. We can talk to Him through prayer and He will hear and answer our sincere prayers if we pray in faith. He loves us unconditionally and He will help us to overcome all the trials and heartache that we face in this life. Through living a life of faith in God and His son Jesus Christ, we can return to live with Him when our life on earth is over. Show more Show less
