Hi I'm Darren Davis

Hi I`m a Mormon, Joined the Church in February 2012 and was Baptized 12 May 2012.

About Me

I have a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma In Sport. Been in the Church since Feb 2012, was taught by the Missionaries at my Dad and Step Mum`s house then was Baptized by my Dad on the 12 May 2012. My Dad (A convert himself) helped me get ready for Baptism. The first moment I stepped through the doors of Lowestoft Ward I was welcomed and felt like part of the family! I have never looked back and getting Baptized was the best decision I have ever made! I Know It I Live It I Love It

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ`s Church (The Latter-Day Saints church) is the true and correct Church on this earth today. I love the fact that we have been given commandments to follow to live with Heavenly Father again. I love the fact we have the word of wisdom (Not drinking tea/coffee/alcohol/energy drinks, not having tattoos an not smoking) I love the Law of Chastity (No sex before marriage) because we need to be in love with our partners and not just want it. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that we have a prophet on this earth today in President Thomas s Monson. I know the book of Mormon is true and I`m thankful for the Missionaries and my Dad for bringing me and keeping me in the church. This is my Testimony I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ Amen

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the Scripters that we have been given by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I read the Book Of Mormon daily, as well as the Preach my gospel manual. I pay 10% of my incomings as Tithing, and I turn up to Church every Sunday and all Church Meetings, such as Institute, Priesthood, Sunday school and Sacrament. I Talk about my Faith to others and they ask me questions that they would like to know the answers to, and I give them www.mormon.org.uk and www.lds.org websites so they can read up about it if I`m not sure about the answer. I tell other people I work with and hang out with about my faith and they ask me questions about it, and I answer the best I can.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Darren Davis
Joseph Smith Jr. was born in 1805 in Sharon, Windsor County, Vermont, to Joseph and Lucy Mack Smith. He had 10 brothers and sisters. His parents taught him to pray, read the Bible, and to have faith in God. At age 14, as an answer to fervent prayer, Joseph saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, in his First Vision. At age 17, Joseph began to receive heavenly messengers who prepared him for his role in the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. He was a prophet, just like Moses, Isaiah and others in biblical times. He was strengthened by God to fulfill His mission much as was Jeremiah who said, “Ah Lord God! Behold I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak" Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Darren Davis
We baptize our new members because Jesus Christ was baptized himself and set the example for us to follow if we want to get the best out of the gospel Show more Show less
