Hi I'm Marissa Rohlfing

I was born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii. I am currently serving a mission in Taichung, Taiwan.

About Me

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I love singing, dancing, running, biking, swimming, hiking, traveling, and most of all going to beach. I went to college for two years on the East Coast, studying Law and Public Policy with a minor in Women's Studies. I am currently serving as a sister missionary in Taiwan Taichung.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church under faithful loving parents. However, I had to go through my own conversion process and they allowed me to decide for myself if this is truly what i believe. Through sincere prayer, scripture study, and attending church, I have learned this gospel is true. I have felt God's infinite and unconditional love. He forgives me, accepts me, and strengthens me. The commandments from God have given great safety and peace. Through the sincere prayer and the spirit I received my own answer to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God. Through knowing the Book of Mormon is true. Our unique message to the world is that God's gospel has been restored through a prophet who leads and directs our church today. God lives! The times I've tried my best to follow God's light, I have had so much happiness in my life. Trials and hardships do not cease, but I have my Father in Heaven carrying my yoke and making my burden light. The times I have followed what the world claims is right, and my own pride, have been hopeless, dark, and empty times. The "happiness and freedom" the world claims to offer cannot compare to the light and peace of the gospel. This is everything I desire my children and my children's children to have. Here in the gospel of Jesus Christ is the invitation to question and seek answers from the highest power. In His fold there is sincere friendship and fellowship. The opportunity to serve and be served. Love. Refuge. Safety. Peace. Strong family values. Eternal marriages and eternal families. The Plan of Happiness. I am a Mormon because through this church I have come to know my Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement. His sacrifice covers all pains, sicknesses, and sins. As we utilize the Atonement we change our hearts and move on to brighter futures.Through any trial Christ is my strength, my rock, anchor. There is truth here which brings greater joy than one could imagine. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my others. Heavenly Father wants us to serve Him by serving His children, our brothers and sisters. While in college I was in a family ward and had awesome examples around me of how to magnify my calling.I was the Ward Choir Director and loved visiting teaching. I loved being involved in our youth programs back in high school. I live my faith by trying every day to consistently choose the right and follow Jesus Christ. Right now I am really living my faith as a missionary for our church. I love sharing the true happiness and peace I've received from this gospel to other children of God.
