Hi I'm Madalyn

I'm an Idaho girl, a cashier, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a cellist, and a sports lover. I love life, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a typical teenage girl. I love to have fun and laugh. I'm typical in the fact that we, and our situations are all so different. My family is so loving. My dad's family has always been strong in the Church, but while my parents loved them, they weren't quite so into the church scene. My mom converted to the Church much later in life, she is the only one in her family that is involved religiously. So, when I was little, thankfully, we had neighbors that were the most caring people anyone could ever know, that took my sister and I to church. They were like another set of great parents. They helped me and my sister on the road to baptism. My parents felt like it was our decision and supported whatever we wanted. Later after I turned 8 and was baptized, my mom decided she needed something else in her life. So we have been actively participating in church since. I love being me! :) I have great friends. I have a great family. I love music, sports, camping, adventures of any sort, and anything that makes me smile. I am excited about what life has in store for me and my family. I'm looking forward to serving a church service mission for 18 months in Oregon in the near future, and I cannot wait for it! Life is simply and complexly beautiful! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love it. I have a deep love for my Father in Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ. I wish everyone knew of this love. It is the best thing there is in this life. I know that because of Christ I can return to Their presence along side my family. I know I have been placed here for a divine purpose, just like anyone who is reading this. We are sons and daughters of God. Sometimes we have doubt and fear and tragedy in our lives, but when we stop and contemplate the goodness and love of God we can remember everything in this life is a small moment compared to eternity, and God will not leave us comfortless. I'm a Mormon because of love. There is so much love everywhere you look, and it is magnified infinitely when we know of the absolute truth that Christ has given us through His Gospel which comes from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Everything about this church comes back to the love that Christ and our Father in Heaven has for us. Every single thing. Whether it is scripture, the Atonement, families, our dear Prophet, anything at all, it comes down to love. When we know this concept, there is no better joy in life than being a member of this, His Church.

How I live my faith

I'm so far from perfect at living my faith, but I try! I meet new people every day and as I try to remember that every single one of them is a child of God my life seems to be in a better perspective! As I participate in church I help teach the young children, which is amazing! They know things in their simplicity that are so profound, and it helps me remember the truly important things in life. I also recently got called to serve in the Oregon Eugene Mission, so I am currently preparing for that! It's so amazing how those little things can help me live my faith, and to "try a little harder to be a little better" each day. :)
