Hi I'm Chris

I love serving my family, neighbors, and community. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have a Masters in Business Management and like working with my hands. I recently remodeled our home interior. I enjoy teamwork to improve processes and community. I find gardening relaxing and watching a sun rise inspiring.

Why I am a Mormon

So why am I a Mormon? As a child I knew that God lived. I knew I live with Him before this life. I believe Joseph Smith saw God and Christ. They did in fact speak to him and gave him direction. I've read and re-read the Holy Bible, Book of Mormon, and other modern scriptures like the Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price many times. I have prayed to know of their truthfulness and God has answered my prayers with a warm feeling of conviction. Jesus taught his followers that the Holy Ghost would come from the Father to them and He gave them power to give the gift to others. The Holy Ghost has comforted me, reminded me of things forgotten and taught me the peaceable things of the kingdom. Everything hasn't been easy. In fact, knowing the Gospel message and plan I realize I fall short in many ways and have need to change or repent of sins or weaknesses. So at the start of each day, I seek the Lord in prayer. I read daily from the Holy Scriptures and at day's end I give an accounting. His gentle command to "Come follow me" invites me in. His charge to go and do likewise provides me with a mission. And his voice is heard saying "be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" provides me courage and hope.

How I live my faith

I believe in being involved with my family and the community. Little league coaching, attending soccer, baseball or tennis tournaments have helped keep me be part of family life. When the kids were young, we held weekly activities and taught the gospel of Christ to them. We had family prayer and scripture reading. Over the last 20 years, many of our neighbors water lines broke. Working together we dug trenches, replaced line and refilled holes. I enjoy helping them replace water heaters, remove trees, and care for their property. Currently, I serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission of our city and teach adult classes at church. This year I decided to run for Mayor. People often say they don't know why anyone would want that job. I guess that's it. I mean I don't want another "job." I want another opportunity to serve others.
