Hi I'm Markus Junior Maring

I grew up in Germany, and the UK. I have an interesting family. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of three kids. My mum is British and my dad is German. They were divorced over 12 years ago now, and live in separate countries. I have grown up and schooled in both countries, and so I speak both languages fluently. I love to cook, bake, play rugby and share what I have learnt to be true. I was born in to the 'Mormon'-faith, as both my parents had served missions. Having had a christian background has helped me see the world in a different light. I have recently come back from a mission in South Africa, where I served in the South Africa Durban Mission. Having been there has helped me see just how blessed my life is, and how much it means to be a true disciple of Christ. I currently Study and work in Germany where I am pursuing an education in biochemistry. I love studying how things work and have always marvelled at the intricacy of this world!

Why I am a Mormon

I am not a member of this church because my parents, or grandparents are. I am a member of this church because I chose to. My parents and grandparents, teachers and friends have helped me apply the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Gospel, and what the scriptures teach me. By simply living it I have seen the blessings and peace that have come into my life and into the life of my family and friends. I wasn't always active in the church and have strayed from the path, having dabbled in things I shouldn't have. Yes, it was fun, while it lasted, but it didn't give me the peace and happiness I desired. By reading the Book of Mormon, and praying about it, and actually living what I'd been taught, was I able to find what I was looking for.

How I live my faith

I have served a full-time mission in South Africa Durban, but continue to share the gospel with friends and family by simply living the principles that I have been taught and have learnt. I make sure I actively participate in all church activities and love helping people from all walks of life. I love working with the Youth as I have been greatly helped by good people when I was a youth. I really like helping people realise that they are loved, and cared for by their Father, who lives in Heaven and so happens to be our God.
