Hi I'm Cathy Holcomb

I'm a mother of five, and a grandmother. I am a widow who knows families are forever. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Cathy and I am a mom and a grandmother. I love spending time with my family. I love to sing, jog, hike, dance and be active. I work as an administrative assistant which means that I do whatever needs to be done. I like things to be well organized but I also love to do things spontaneously and have fun. My husband died from cancer a few years ago, and though this had been hard, I take great comfort in the plan of salvation and know that I will be with him again.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and so I have had the blessing of being taught the ways of our Savior since I was a small child. That being said, I can not imagine what my life would be like without the gospel. I know how to talk to my Father in Heaven through prayer, and I have felt his love for me as he has helped me through this life. I know that I am a Daughter of God and that he loves me. He loves and knows each and every one of us individually. I have been sealed to my family forever. Because of this sealing I know that when my husband died it was not the end of our marriage or family. I will be with him again and so will my children and their children and on and on...

How I live my faith

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I direct the music in church on Sundays. I work with the Boy Scouts of America by doing all the advancement for the boys in my area. I also teach kids on Sunday. I have had many opportunities to learn and grow through the many church assignments that I have been given. I go to church every Sunday, I attend the temple every week, I pray every day and do my best to follow the example of our savior Jesus Christ. I love him and know that he died and was resurrected so that I could be forgiven of my sins and can live with him again.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Cathy Holcomb
Husband and wife can be together forever. I know this because my husband and I are separated right now through his death. However I know that we are not completely separated. There are times that I can feel his presence-it is really hard to describe. We were sealed together through the authority of the priesthood when we were first married. At that time I believed it was forever-after nearly 30 years of marriage and his death. I don't just believe our marriage is forever I know it is forever. I take great comfort in God's eternal plan on the days that are hard. Show more Show less
