Hi I'm Roland

I grew up in Germany and am now living in Maine. I joined the Mormon church while living in Germany.

About Me

I am married and have two daughters and three sons. I am an industrial engineer by profession and have been working in the semiconductor industry for over twenty five years. I lived in Germany until I was fifteen years old and then moved to the United States. I love to travel and experience the cultures where I go. My favorite sport is soccer (football) which I watch and play regularly. I love to listen to and play music. I also like doing yard work and cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because knowing that I am the son of a loving Heavenly Father and living by the doctrines and guidelines he has given us to live by in this life as taught by this church has made me happier and more fulfilled than I have found possible by living any other way. My faith is not a religion that I practice, but it defines me, it defines who I am. I believe in God because I have experienced miracles in my own life and the life of those around me that clearly demonstrate that he lives and cares about us. I believe in Jesus Christ because I have felt the power of His atonement in my life. By praying for his sacrifice to become effective on my behalf I have received help to overcome weaknesses and to cope with trials and challenges that seemed otherwise insurmountable. I am a Mormon because the doctrines have taught me who I really am, how I can be my best, and how I can have true happiness in life.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in church first and foremost as a Home Teacher, visiting those entrusted to my care on a monthly basis, making sure they are healthy, safe, and have what they need in life. As I have served these families I have come to love them and feel blessed to have them as friends in my life. I also have had opportunities to contribute in our congregation by serving in teaching and leadership positions.
