Hi I'm Christy

I have a degree in Dietetics & Food Science. I am a mother to three beautiful boys. I am an Army wife. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am the eldest of 5 children. I am originally from Colorado and dearly love the state! I lived my public school years in New Mexico where my parents still live. I attended college at Colorado State University and earn my degree in Dietetics & Food Science. I met my husband on a blind date about 2 months after I graduated and we were married with 4 months. We have three boys that keep us pretty busy. When I have time to myself I really enjoy reading, making cards, cooking/baking, and completing any crafting project that suits my fancy. I love spending time outdoors and exploring the areas around me. I love seeing new things and learning about the areas I live in.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. When I went off to college I really had to build my own testimony. I was active in the institute program and really enjoyed all that I learned from the scriptures. One of my biggest testimony builders/strengtheners was participating in the institute choir and feeling the spirit that was present during that time every week. I was also blessed with making such wonderful friends that formed a family in which we would lean on and support each other during those years. I loved being able to share similar values and experiences with those dear friends. Now that I am out of college I continue strive to be a good Latter-day Saint and feel inspired every time I listen to our dear prophet speak. I enjoy listening to the general conference broadcasts. I know that the good feeling I feel is the Holy Ghost testifying to my spirit the truth of all that I learn.

How I live my faith

I always hope that I am living my faith to the very best of my abilities. I visit and pray for the sisters on my visiting teaching route. I think of them constantly and try to come up with ways to best serve them. I try to act on promptings to help others in need, and while I am not always good at responding to the promptings I receive I am working on doing better. I try my hardest to read my scriptures before I leave the house in the morning, so that I have a good attitude in my heart that is reflected in my appearance. I aways make sure to speak kind words to those around me when speaking to them or about them. I make sure to be friendly and approachable to everyone in my neighborhood. I like to acknowledge everyone I pass on the street with a smile and "Good Morning" or simple "Hello". I make an effort to get to know my neighbors and their kids.
