Hi I'm Brett Parrish

I grew up in Centerville, Utah. I graduated from USU. I love football, basketball and all sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 3rd of 4 children. I graduated from college with a degree in Business. While in college, I met my sweet wife Karli. We were married in June of 2012. We live in Cache Valley Utah because we both attended college there and have fallen in love with the area. I am an avid Utah State Aggie fan. I love to play all kinds of sports especially Football, Basketball, and Soccer. I also love the outdoors. I love to go fishing, hiking and camping. I served a mission to Brazil from 2007-2009. I fell in love with the people, the food, the language and everything else about Brazil. I consider it my second homeland.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born as raised as a member of the church. However, like most everyone, I had to find my own way. There was a time in my life where I didn't want to believe that the church was true. I intended to leave the church and go my own way. The thing that held me back from doing this was my Family. They are the most important thing in my life. Being a member of the church has taught me how my Family can be a Family forever. I feel like most people would agree with me that their family is the most important thing in their life. The promise of having them for eternity is why I choose to be a Mormon. I know that God created a plan for our families to be together forever. While serving a mission in Brazil I was able to teach others about this. The joy that comes from my Family overpowers any sadness or trial I may be facing in my life. They mean everything to me, and I have come to understand that even better because of the church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it to be true. I know it for myself, just as I know that Christ lives. He loves us and gave his life for us that we could return to live with him and our families for all eternity. This is God's plan for us, to have joy with our families forever. Knowing this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

James taught in the New Testament that faith without works is dead. I believe that to live my faith, I must be moved to action, serve those around you. Christ led the way with his example. I help organize the ward which I attend and often conduct meetings and participate in councils to plan out ways to help those within our ward who may be in need of service. Life is not easy and at times can be down right impossible to bear alone. I strive to live my life in such a way that I can help those who need it most. I look for those who need their spirit lifted with a smile. I believe that to be a Mormon isn't simply a tag, but a call to action.
