Hi I'm Krista

I was born and raised in Utah County. I'm preparing to serve in the California Bakersfield Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the seventh of eight children. I am currently taking a break from school and working full time at a car wash so I can save up enough money to go on a mission for the Latter Day Saint church. I'm a bit of a late-bloomer but I wasn't ready to be a missionary when I was twenty-one. Now I feel ready, like my whole life has been building to this point in my life. I want to be a teacher and what better way to learn than to do it 12 hours a day for 18 months?

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. Unfortunately, I had never felt the need to develop a testimony of my own because I had the testimonies of everyone around me to rely on. When I left home for college a couple hundred miles away, I realized quickly that Satan will do whatever he can to drag us down. I didn't have a strong enough grasp of the gospel or a personal testimony of God's infinite love so I let myself get caught up in the things of the world. I didn't feel I had worth and my life felt dark. Through much trial and error I have come to realize that living this Gospel has made me happier than any worldly escape ever can. I have a deep and personal testimony of the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and of the sweet and tender mercies of the Lord. I look forward to sharing my testimony of the Savior's undying love and Atonement with everyone I teach on my mission.

How I live my faith

I serve as a "Start the Fast" co-chair in my singles ward. Once a month it is my responsibility, along with another member, to prepare and serve food to the other members of my ward. It's a chance for all of us to get together, eat some food, get to know each other, and listen to a spiritual thought by one of our leaders. In singles wards, it's all about the mingle. A lot of people in the ward are hundreds or even thousands of miles from home, so we do what we can to make everyone feel like they have a family here. This calling has been a challenge but a wonderful blessing that has sparked a deep desire to love and serve all of God's children.
