Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a big sister, I'm an advocate of smiling, I love to serve, and you guessed it.

About Me

I am the oldest of six children, and I look up most to my little siblings. I love to be with my family! I really enjoy being with friends, doing musical theater, and I LOVE music. Any kind. Nat King Cole, Mumford and Sons, Fun, Ella Fitzgerald, Regina Spektor, Sara Barielles, Kelly Clarkson, Rascal Flatts, She and Him, Beethoven, Chopin, Michael Jackson, just for starters. I attended BYUI and did a triple major of Pre-Med, Pre-Nursing, and Vocal Performance. I'm putting college on hold while I serve a full-time mission in South Carolina.

Why I am a Mormon

You know, I have been raised in a Mormon family all my life. I felt like because of that, I needed some kind of definite proof of my faith to show that I'm not blindly following something I don't know about. I thought that my conversion might come through some miraculous vision, or difficult trial, or some heavenly sign. But I realized that, though I have experienced trials, my testimony of this gospel has come from the peace I feel in my life. This gospel gives me purpose. It strengthens me and helps me to want to become better, and shows me how. This church has given me happiness in my interactions with family and friends and helped me progress to a becoming a better sister, daughter, friend, and member of my community. I follow the gospel of Christ because I know it is true. I'm Mormon. I live it, I love it.

How I live my faith

Mostly, I just try to be nice. Love others and try to be the best you can. I have participated in a lot of youth organization committees. I have also had the opportunity to teach others in a classroom setting for the church. I love working with the youth. I love seeing how they impact others for good, and I think they need as much support as possible. I try to use the things I've learned from my faith to apply in the community as I've served on city and school groups.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We are the Church of Jesus Christ. We worship him as our Savior. Joseph Smith was a prophet that received revelation in these latter days to restore the same organized church that Christ taught of. We hold our prophets in the same reverence as those of the Bible, but just like the Bible, they were there to help with the organization of the Church and point the members to Christ. What is being a Mormon like?

Being Mormon just means that you are trying to become more like Christ. The purpose of this life is to prepare to meet God. So we look for personal peace by serving others, strengthening our families, and becoming our personal best. No one is perfect, but because of Jesus Christ, we can all change. We encourage all to come unto Christ and find peace in Him. Show more Show less
