Hi I'm Katie Yurko

I was raised in the Arizona desert and I love the sunshine and heat. I'm a Mormon

About Me

When I was younger I planned out my life. After high school I would graduate college, get married and start a family. Done done and done. But what I didn't plan on was the journey to get there. While at college I lived in China and taught English, I met life long friends that have made me a better person, lost loved ones and most important I found out who I am. I'm only 25, I have lots more to learn and I'm excited for life's adventures that lay ahead.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church I haven't had the struggles that others have finding faith. I feel like ever since I can remember I knew who God was and I knew he loved me. That love is what gets me through my trails. He knows I'm going to make mistakes and I know he is always there no mater what. The atonement of His son , Jesus Christ, allows me to be forgiven. Not only is the atonement for repentance but for anything that makes us struggle. Whether it's sickness, failure, death or heartache, He is there to comfort and make us anew. All of this is because he loves us. I try to love as He does. We are all children of God, brothers and sisters, and love is what holds us together. Now that I am a mother I understand His love more than ever. I would go to the edges of the earth for my girls, and although they aren't perfectly obedient and well behaved I love just the same. I know this is how Heavenly Father feels about all of us and His love is how we will be a family forever.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the LDS Church. I was baptized at 8 and I knew then this is the true gospel. I know what my Heavenly Father expects of me and that's how I guide my decisions. No I'm not perfect, not even close, but I try every day to be the person I want my girls to be. I want my Heavenly Father to be proud of me and say "I never had to worry about Katie". I live my faith by being an example of Christ.
