Hi I'm Sister Polly Hann.

My name is Sister Hann I am currently serving a mission in Portland Oregon!

About Me

I am 19 and have been a member of the Mormon church all my life. I am currently serving a Mission for the church in Oregon.

Why I am a Mormon

So, I was brought up in the church through my parents and to be honest I had never had much interest in the church... I only really went because my parents made me.... Until eventually I was able to start making decisions for myself. Which made me question if I should continue to go to church. Although I hadn't known the church was true, I had always felt that I had a God who was like a Father to me and he wanted to listen to me and helped me. So one night I knelt down and prayed for help to know whether this was the true church or not. And to be completely honest, i didn't expect the answer that I got. It wasn't anything big or crazy, but it was my answers. This is the true Church. I am so grateful to know that this is the true church. im so grateful to my parents, who took me to church and taught me that I had a Heavenly Father who wanted me to ask him questions that I struggled to know the answers to. I am so grateful that he answered my prayer. I'm so grateful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Because I have come to find that the Church is true, I have chosen to live according to what i believe my Heavenly Father has asked of me. which would be to read the scriptures (Book of mormon and Bible) to say Prayers and to come to church. these three things have been a real blessing in my life. As I read the Book of Mormon I am able to acknowledge the testimonies these prophets have, and all the struggles they have been through. when I read these things I am able to learn if these stories are true through prayer. I love prayer because I am able to receive answers and also have a better comunication with my Heavenly Father. Church is one of the things that i never seemed to understand until i started my mission. i have come to know why Church is so important. We come to church to remember our saviour and to be in a more spiritual enviroment. And so much more! But these are just a few ways i show my Faith.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Sister Polly Hann.
There is a strong tradition of missionary service in the Church. The Savior taught, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19). Church members consider it a privilege to show their love for other people and the Lord by sharing the gospel. Missionaries generally begin serving when they are from 19 to 21 years old. Many retired seniors, men, women, and married couples also serve missions. Missionaries serve from 18 months to 2 years. Missions are voluntary, and missionaries are not paid for their service. Missionaries come from around the world, and they serve wherever the Church calls them. While serving full-time, missionaries are official representatives of the Church. Show more Show less
