Hi I'm Kayla

I'm from Washington. I am currently a part-time tutor and full-time mother. I have five wonderful kids.

About Me

I have a bachelors degree in economics and a master's in business adminstration. I have worked as an event lead, marketing director, community manager, and currently work part-time as a tutor. My greatest job is that of a mother. I am the mother of five beautiful children. I spend much time volunteering and working in the community. In my spare time, I like to read, quilt, and photograph. Due to recent hardship I have learned lots of new skills including sewing, cooking from scratch, and making homemade cleaning supplies. I love family history and often get lost searching for my ancestors. I can spend hours working on verifying information and writing down names.

Why I am a Mormon

As a youth I attended a meeting where the counselor asked each of us to pray and ask our Heavenly Father if we were a daughter of God. I took the challenge. That night I knelt in prayer. I felt so much love. I knew I was a Daughter of God and that he loved me. He knew me. That experience is the reason I am a Mormon. I know that the gospel followed and studied by those of the Mormon faith is true. Through that gospel, which is the restored gospel, I have had the opportunity to be sealed to my family in the temple. So that in Heaven we will be able to live together throughout eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my children everyday to love the scriptures and increase their testimony of the Savior. I spend time in the morning reading scriptures with my children before they go to school. Each night we meet as a family to pray together and discuss the day. Once a month I go visit several women in the community to talk and discuss their needs. We also share a short spiritual thought. I live my faith by acting, talking, and living everyday for my Savior. Looking for ways to strengthen and reach out to those who are struggling spiritually or temporally.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes! Absolutely and without doubt there is a prophet alive today. I believe in our prophet Thomas S. Monson and know that he is called to lead and guide us today just as Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. I am so thankful for the gift of having a prophet just like the people of the Old Testament. Show more Show less
