Hi I'm Kimmy

I love raspberries, ice cream and being in the outdoors. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a university student, and a pre-service teacher. I am completing a double major with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education with a minor in Mathematics Education. I grew up playing every sport imaginable, and I was always outside. I particularly loved speed skating, field hockey and swimming. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, relaxing at the beach or on the lake, hiking in the mountains, and pin collecting!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of my faith in God and Jesus Christ. Growing up I knew a higher power existed, but I didn't know much more than that. I knew that things didn't happen out of coincidence & there was a reason for everything. During my first year of university, I began asking a lot of questions about myself & my purpose in life. I have always been one to search online & this was nothing different. I searched various religions & beliefs & was more confused than ever. I didn't know where my beliefs fit & I was hopeful that I would find something. I spoke with many friends about their beliefs & religion, but their was one that stuck out to me. That was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I agreed to meet with the missionaries & learn more about the church. As I met with the missionaries, the Holy Ghost testified of the truthfulness of the gospel. I was relieved to hear about the plan of salvation & know that families can be together forever. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the restored gospel on the earth. I know that Heavenly Father knows us individually and answers our individual prayers. I know He is always mindful of our situations & He will never give us trials that we cannot handle. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins & that the Atonement is real. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, & that there are ordained prophets in these latter days. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of Christ in my everyday life. I choose to serve others by helping them when they are in need and being a friend to everyone I encounter. I live my faith my attending my weekly church meetings, and participating in church activities. I also attend institute when I can. In our church, we have a building called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Institute of Religion. It is here that we learn more about the scriptures and our Heavenly Father. We are encouraged to attend Institute at least once a week to help feel the spirit, strengthen our faith, and make new friends. Institute is a place that we can go to during the week, and help us get away from the world for an hour or two. The Institute is a friendly and happy place that I enjoy attending! I also live my faith through daily prayer, scripture study, modesty and obeying the word of wisdom. It is through these daily activities that my connection with my Heavenly Father is strengthened and I can learn more about myself, and others have noticed the Light of Christ that keeps me positive and happy.
