Hi I'm Keyan

I hail from the middle of nowhere town Childress, Texas. I love sports, music, and breakfast foods. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play piano, drum set, harmonica, and pretty much any other musical instrument I can get my hands on. I played football, basketball, baseball, and track in high school, but there isn't a sport that I don't like to play just for the fun of it. I also am a huge fan of the outdoors and was born in the water! I am pretty much a guy that loves fun things and I live by the quote "Don't knock it till ya try it!" I served a mission in the Tennessee Nashville Mission, aka the best mission ever. After my mission I convinced the most amazing person I've ever met to marry me. You can find me right now attending Utah Valley University and am going into the field of personal financial planning.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both members whenever I was born so I was thrown right into the gospel from the beginning, and I couldn't be more grateful. I guess the reason I would give for why I am a Mormon would be simply because of the joy it has brought to my life. I cannot think of another place where I have felt such a great spirit and sense of love then I have in the church. I have been asked plenty of times what it is that I do that has me in a good mood all the time, and my answer is always my faith. I think about it and there is no reason why I should be down. My Heavenly Father loves me and Jesus Christ gave his life for us here on Earth. That statement right there is enough for me to look at life in a different perspective. Why shouldn't I have a smile on and be in a good mood! This church has just expanded my knowledge of the gospel of Christ and every time I learn something new it just makes me that much stronger in my faith because I know it is true. I constantly tell people that I love being Mormon, and I am not lying.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of my little branch ever since I was born and have been a branch missionary and an advisor for helping people work on their family history. I played piano for one of our meetings and I went out with the missionaries whenever i could. I have lived in Childress ever since I can remember and I finished the scouting program there as an eagle scout and my father is a member of the Rotary Club so I have often participated in service projects hosted by them.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

It is really very simple. Talk to those guys in ties and girls in skirts! You know, the ones who walk around carrying a Book of Mormon, knocking on doors, riding bikes, talking to everybody they see. Yeah, those guys! Their whole purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ, and so by talking to them you will be taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and figure out for yourself how to become a member of his restored church by partaking of the waters of baptism, being confirmed a member of the Church, and then receiving gift of the Holy Ghost.
