Hi I'm Tara

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I'm a wife, mother, runner and musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married mother of two. I studied music in college but have put my love of piano on the backburner while my little ones are young. I enjoy running and traveling with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not a Mormon just for the social benefits or because that's what my family may expect of me. I am a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Spirit testify that that the church is true. The first time I felt that the gospel was true was probably when I was a young teenager, but I have felt it countless times since then. I love that I can receive my own witness of the truth and renew the fire of faith on a daily basis. My husband and I chose to be married for time and all eternity on the Holy Temple. Because of that, we know that we can live together and with our children after we depart this life. Living the gospel together and attending the temple regularly helps keep our marriage strong. To me, the gospel of Jesus Christ is everything. I have meaning, purpose, and direction in my life because I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Although I've put my professional life as a musician to the side for a time, I love to put my skills as a pianist and organist to use at church! Every Sunday I slip on my organ shoes and play for our congregation. Music is a big part of life in my home, and my little ones can often be heard singing children's hymns throughout the day. I love how the Holy Spirit can be felt through music and song; I often feel closest to God when I play or sing uplifting songs. I love to work with the teenagers at church. I am definitely still a teenager at heart and I blend right in! It is so exciting to teach the youth the gospel. I love to bear testimony of things I know to be true so that they can feel the Holy Spirit. One of the biggest ways I live my faith is in my home and family. We pray, sing, read scripture, and listen to the words of the prophets throughout the day, every day. I feel so blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.
