Hi I'm Katie Menasco

I love my family and friends. I love being outside. I am serving a mission in Juiz de Fora, Brasil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Sophomore studying Communication Disorders at BYU, but I am taking a break from college to serve a mission in Brazil Juiz de Fora. I enjoy reading, running, baseball, camping, hiking, repelling, fishing, anything outdoors, and trying new things. I am the youngest of five kids and I have 6 nieces and 2 nephews. I love my family here on Earth and I also love doing family history work and learning about those who have gone before me. I love kids and I hope to have my own family someday. I strive daily to enjoy life and live every day with a smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have a testimony that it is Christ's restored church on the Earth today. I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that as I live the commandments I will be filled with love for Christ and for all of God's children. The gospel brings me joy everyday of my life as I strive to read the scriptures and commune daily with my Father in Heaven. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet today and that as we listen to him and follow the teachings of God, we will be blessed with happiness and joy. I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has testified to me that these things are true and living this truth brings me more happiness than anything else in the world!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my hardest to be Christ-like each and every day. I enjoy life and I want everyone to know how happy they can be through Christ and His Atonement, so I try to be an example of His love. I love to serve others, even in small, simple ways each day. I think it is important to truly love others on this Earth and make life easier for everyone. One way I show my faith is through my willingness to serve the Lord for 18 months in Brasil. I know that He will be with me every step of the way and help me to bring others unto Him if I obey the commandments.
