Hi I'm Gaylene

I grew up in AZ. My husband and I have 5 kids. I love to play sports, cook yummy food, and go on vacation! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to my very best friend and I have been so blessed with 5 beautiful and healthy children. I enjoy spending quality time with my family to create fun and lasting memories with vacations and other activities. I am also a Registered Nurse. I stay at home with my kids, but I work once a week to keep my license current. I like to exercise, cook, bake, and mostly just have a good time with my family. We like to go camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, gardening, vacationing, and having a fire in our backyard. My kids are the most amazing accomplishment and blessing in my life and I hope I can teach them to have their own testimony of the gospel and temple.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the earth. I have been so blessed and am so grateful for the knowledge that I have to help me to come to the conclusion that I have made the right decision to be baptized into the Mormon Church. I made a decision when I was in high school to find out for myself if Joseph Smith really talked to God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ, and then found out that he was the chosen prophet to restore the Church of Jesus Christ on the earth again. I studied the experience of Joseph Smith and I also memorized the incident that occurred to him when he kneeled in prayer in the Sacred Grove. I prayed to know if this experience really occurred and I continued to pray. I had a unique opportunity in my first year of college to go to the birthplace of the prophet and be on the grounds of his home where he was born. I recited the words that I memorized in high school and I was overwhelmed with a feeling of assurance that the words that I were speaking really happened and I will never forget that special experience and the way that the spirit spoke to my heart. I am so happy that Joseph Smith had the courage to ask in Prayer and I know that prayer has also helped me in my life as well to know that being a Mormon is what is right for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to teach my children by example. If I want them to know how important the scriptures are to me then we read from them and learn by them. If I want them to know that I love my Savior, then I try to live a life that shows that I know how much he loves me and I will follow his commandments. If I want them to know how important it is to treat our bodies with respect and eat healthy, then I will show them by modest behavior and having a healthy lifestyle.
