Hi I'm Haley

Finished one semester at college, called to serve the people of Mexico! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town, then moved when I was twelve. I went to a pretty big high school and had a great time being involved with A' Capella choir, Yearbook, and other clubs. My senior year I took a Ceramics 1 art course and later submitted one of my art pieces from the class to the school art show and ended up receiving the "Purchase Award" of $350. I am now in my freshman year of college and am loving it! Some of my hobbies/interests include volleyball, photography, 3-D art, music (the piano), and getting to know people.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but always wished that I hadn't so that I could be converted to this church of my own searching, instead of just going to church for my family. A few weeks ago I had my own personal conversion to the church while I was reading in the scriptures early one morning. In Colossians 2: 6-8 it says " As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." It made me realize that I have had a testimony of this church the entire time. The chapter also helped me understand that this was MY decision to be a Mormon. I am not a Mormon for my family, friends, or anyone else. I am a Mormon because I believe that this church helps me become a better person. What I love most about this church is the lifestyle because it focuses on charity, kindness, goodwill, dedication, and hard work to create a happy society. There are no restrictions, just guidelines that help ensure a good life. Through this church I will be forgiven for past sins, be able to see loved ones again, and am always able to progress and become a better human being. I love this gospel, and I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At my college we have Institute, which is a school of religion at the university. I was a part of the LDSSA (publicity) committee for Institute and I participated in a few other religion classes. I have now been called to serve as a missionary for the LDS Church in the Mexico Guadalajara East mission (April 2, 2014- October 2015).
